One doesn’t simply fall into cachaça if they’re not from Brazil.

There is so little beyond Brazilian borders. Chasing cachaça, if one were so inclined, would require an amazing amount of dedication. If one were lucky, and happened to live in a major metropolitan area, one might have a nearby liquor store that has four or five different cachaça brands. And those are most likely to be unaged cachaças.

I started this brand for a few reasons. First, I really fell in love with the culture around cachaca. In Brazil, the community around the spirit is just tremendous. I imagined that I could easily transport that to the US. Second, I believed that cachaça could be a new spirit of importance. I thought that if I said the word enough, people might come to their senses and realize that it’s an ample spirit, with a wondrous diversity. Finally, I knew that people were looking for something new; a spirit that wasn’t just another bourbon or gin. People want cutting edge.

All of those things are why I’m still in this business. Because without that base, without the understanding of the relationships I have and the products that are so dear, I wouldn’t be able to push on.

The world is not well right now, and to stay in business might mean some adjustments. I haven’t yet launched new products because of tariffs, though I do have some sitting in storage in New Jersey. The other two are still here, chipping away.

I’m hoping to outlast my heaviest costs, something I should’ve put to rest last year. But here I am. And so, I hope you’ll continue to support someone who believes deeply in their products, who isn’t trying to become the biggest seller, and won’t ever switch to RTDs.

Thanks for reading.
