The Holidays and Cachaça

The Holidays and Cachaça

I started Cachacier over a year ago to help educate people in the US about cachaça. When I married a Brazilian more than fifteen years ago, I never imagined that I'd one day become a purveyor of distilled spirits.

But like a lot of people out there who are enthralled with the stories and history of products, as well as their sensorial diversity, I've found myself increasingly optimistic.

The Holidays are a time when people get together and enjoy good food and drinks. It's part of the cultural experience. For those who partake in alcoholic beverages, cachaça may be a great surprise, just waiting to be picked up.

As I meet people and get people to try cachaça, I'm amazed how surprised people are about the quality of Cachacier's products. There's an expectation that cachaça is both low-quality and not very interesting. People generally know what a caipirinha is, but never imagine cachaça being used in another cocktail much less taken neat.

The experience of excellent cachaça can't be conveyed on a page or in an Instagram post. Nothing on Facebook can tell someone who has never experienced quality cachaça that it truly exists.

But if you're here, on Cachacier's page, reading this blog, then you know that it does exist, and is available, even in the United States. If you've tried Cachacier's products, or any other excellent cachaça for that matter, you'll understand. If not, there are no words that can approximate the excellence of our products.

Thank you for being here. And while you're here, get some of that holiday spirit and share your new favorite cachaça with friends and family.
